About Me
Hello, my name is Lauren Roerich and I am a harpist living in New York City, Manhattan. I first fell in love with the harp when I was five years old. I attended a wedding in Minnesota where I saw a beautiful pedal harp and immediately took an affinity to the instrument. It took my mom and I three years to find a harp teacher, but when I was eight, I had my first lesson. Since then and now, much has happened. I’ve played at several weddings and events. In 2011, I placed second in the Redlands Harp Competition and I have even been blessed to preform at spectacular venues such as The Thousand Oaks Civics Arts Plaza and The Grand Ole Opry in Tennessee. I have also attended the prestigious summer intensive "Young Artist's Harp Seminar." For my first year of college, I was the principal harpist for Pepperdine University's Symphony and Woodwind Ensemble. Currently, I am pursuing a Film and Television degree from New York University Tisch as well as involving myself in the music community at NYU Stienhardt. Being able to play the harp is a wonderful experience and I hope to share my gift with as many people as possible.
